Payments
Annual payments will be due on or before August 1. For those choosing to pay by semester (i.e., twice yearly), payments will be due on or before August 1 (first semester) and December 1 (second semester).
Note that there is a discount ($25/course) for paying annually; a 20% tuition discount is also applied for enrolling in three or more classes per family.
Late Payment Fee:
A $10 late payment fee will be applied if any payment is received more than a week after the due date(s).
Invoices will be sent to each family. Please return the payment stub with your payment(s). Make all checks payable to "Tara School, Inc." (not "Tara Learning Center").
Please purchase books before the first day of classes. See the Course Description on the website for the books and materials required for each class. You must buy the correct edition, where indicated. Any additional fees (e.g., the materials fee for science classes) will be included in the first invoice.

Refunds
Tuition for a given semester and course will be refunded if a student withdraws from that course on or before the second day of class (i.e., within the first 2 weeks of the semester).
Report Cards and Grading
Report cards are issued to families four times per year, usually within a week to 10 days after the close of a given quarter. Tara Learning Center follows a 10-point grading scale. Grades are reported in both percentage and letter format. A sample report card is shown below.
Homework and Assignments
For each course at Tara Learning Center, students will have 1.5 to 2 hours of instructional classroom time per week and need 3 to 5 hours, typically, per week to complete homework, reading, and study assignments at home. Students are expected to keep up with their assignments and to turn them in on time.
Except in cases of legitimate student absences (illness, travel, etc.), papers and homework assignments that are not turned in during or before the class period they are due will be considered "late" and marked down accordingly (at the discretion of individual teachers).
